How to score extra marks in exams

Graduation marks carry weightage in almost every post-graduation course one wishes to pursue. With so much importance being given to graduation marks these days, scoring good grades is a must in order to improve your chances to get into a better college for higher studies. However, with such vast syllabus and limited time frame to prepare, most of the students find it very difficult to score well and get a better percentage.

So worry not folks, here we are with a cheat sheet, which you can truly rely on in order to excel the coming exam season and flaunt your high grades

1. Focus on Presentation: The way you present your answer plays an important role in fetching better marks. The examiner does not have time to read the whole answer, therefore, he/she will go through only the key points that you have underlined or highlighted. Therefore always make a point to spare 5 minutes in the end before submitting your answer sheet to underline the main points. Also, mention the question number to which the answer relates very clearly and try starting a new answer from a fresh page.

2. Notes and previous question papers: Given the vast syllabus and limited time to cover the course, it is impossible to prepare each and every topic. Therefore it is always advisable to mark the important topics first and then start preparing. Certain DU courses exams follow the trend of repetitive questions every semester. The previous year question papers of most of the courses are easily available at bookshops and they can also be downloaded from DU website.

3. Attendance and internals: Attendance above 85 % can provide you an extra 5% marks in DU exams. Hence always try to get more and more ECAs and try attending as many lectures as possible if you don't want to miss on these free marks. Also, your performance in internals can greatly influence your overall percentage, therefore, do not take the internals lightly and give it your best shot.

4. Revision: You may learn all the topics for the exam but without revising your brain cannot retain all of it and hence rendering you blank during exam time. A proper revision is required to memorize everything that you have learned for the exam. Therefore we recommend you to take out time for a thorough revision for every exam so that every answer in fresh in your mind

5. Proper sleep and proper meals: It is a very common habit of students to not sleep in the night just before the exam and not have proper meals. Due to lack of proper sleep and food, your mind tends to slow down resulting in poor performance in the exam. In order to boost your efficiency always take a nap and have good food.

Hope this helps!!!
